Welcome to the
Nottinghamshire

Firefighter's Memorial Site

This site is dedicated to the memory of those who gave their life in the Fire Service and Civil Defence organisations based within the City and County of Nottingham.

This appeal has been initiated by a group of retired Nottinghamshire Firefighters who were inspired by the research and writing of David Needham in the production of his book "BATTLE OF THE FLAMES" and have set out to erect a granite monument to the memory of those who gave their life in the service of the people of this area.

This appeal has no direct association with Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

We are, however, extremely grateful for the support of the Chief Fire Officer Frank Swann and other members of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Our thanks go to Steve Potts of Andante UK who is hosting this web-site for us.

OUR AIM

Our aim is to raise money to provide a permanent Memorial on a prestigious site within the City of Nottingham.

The City Council are extremely supportive of this appeal and following an official launch by the Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Jeannie Packer, are actively working through the planning process to make a site available to us.

Donations to the fund can be made at any Nottinghamshire Fire Station,

by cheque to The Firefighters Memorial Fund PO Box 62 Nottingham NG8 1DQ

or by visiting My Charitypage. com

This web site is presently under development and new pages will be added in the near future.
